Weathertex Pergolas Framing a Luxury Poolside Retreat in Nad Al Sheba

Set in one of Dubai’s most sought-after residential districts, this private villa shows how Weathertex can give an outdoor living space a warm, crafted character. Designed and executed by our partners in Dubai, the project centres on a striking pool terrace, where timber-clad pergolas create shaded spots to relax beside the water.

Weathertex Exteriorboards in Woodsman Natural were used as the cladding material for the poolside pergolas. The rich timber tones contrast beautifully with the crisp white architecture, turquoise water and soft evening lighting. Overhead, the delicate, organic cut-out pattern of the pergola roof filters the Gulf sunlight into shifting shadows by day, and glows with string lighting at dusk.

As seen in the project images, the clean lines and warm finish of the pergolas sit comfortably alongside the pool, stepping stones and landscaped planters, tying the whole outdoor space together. Built for the demands of the UAE climate, the installation offers lasting durability with the natural look of real timber.

    Material Used

    Weathertex Exteriorboards, Woodsman Natural

Weathertex Exteriorboards in Woodsman Natural were used as the cladding for the poolside pergolas. The rich, warm timber tone contrasts beautifully against the crisp white architecture, turquoise pool water and soft evening lighting, while the engineered board is built to withstand the heat and humidity of the UAE climate without losing its natural timber character.

    Intergrain Natural Stains (GLT)

Intergrain Natural Stains were applied over the Weathertex cladding and Jaali screens to protect the timber from intense Gulf sun and salt-laden air, while enhancing its natural grain. The finish keeps maintenance low and helps the pergolas keep their warm, crafted look for years to come

    Questions? About Weathertex

Yes. Weathertex Exteriorboards are engineered for demanding outdoor conditions. On this project they clad pergolas right beside the pool, where they face strong sun, high humidity and water splash every day. With a protective coat of Intergrain Natural Stains, the boards keep their warm timber character in the Gulf climate.

Yes. Weathertex boards can be precision cut into custom shapes. On this project they form an organic cut-out roof pattern on the pergola and Jaali screen detailing. The roof filters sunlight during the day and frames the string lighting at night.

The glass panels add a protective layer over the Jaali detailing. They also shield the seating area from wind and dust while keeping the decorative pattern on view. This gives the space extra privacy and shelter without hiding the timber craftsmanship.

Intergrain Natural Stains form a weather-resistant coating that guards the timber against intense sun, humidity and salt-laden air. They also bring out the natural grain. Occasional cleaning and recoating at recommended intervals keep the pergolas looking warm and well finished for years.
